Bernard Chau was raised in Vancouver and was a competitive badminton player in his High School years. He was never someone who interested in training with heavy weights but instead he enjoys cardio training much more. Until his University years, that's when he first approached to global gyms with his pals. Unlike other body builders he did not hit the gym regularly. He kept on searching for training programs from YouTube and Internet looking for something that combines both weights and cardio training until he was introduced to CrossFit by one of his workout buddies. After a short year of training he already see big improvements and so he finds the need to share this to his families and friends in Hong Kong; that's when Fitness Playground was founded.

Bryan Chau started training Muay Thai when he was 18 years old. He not only learns the Muay Thai boxing skills but he also learns that there is no pain no gain. He maintained the same mental when he starts body building training 3 years later. After 5 years of training, he became a licensed personal trainer. He then delicates most of his time to body building and strength until his brother introduced him to CrossFit. He realized that the CrossFit programming is a very all-rounded program which help him to improve his weakness very efficiently. He then shared this new CrossFit training programs to his training buddies and existing clients and began his outdoor CrossFit coaching.

Wil Wong
Gymnastics coach & Founder

Wil Wong learns about CrossFit from his cousins. As a competitive basketball and soccer player, his cousins introduce Crossfit to him because they think that it will improve his fitness level very effectively. After training for 3 months he falls in love with it an realize CrossFit mentality helps enhance his coaching skills for his own High School teams. Thereafter he decided to devote more time to learn about all the CrossFit movements and programming so he can share with his teams. He later grows much more passion on coaching CrossFit so he joined the Fitness Playground team and start his outdoor coaching journey.

Kanny Pang
Trainer

Kanny's fitness journey started when he joined his high school rugby and athletics teams aged 14 in Edinburgh, Scotland and his enthusiasm for fitness grew throughout his time at university where he participated in mixed martial arts (MMA) and powerlifting. It was 2013 when he first came across CrossFit, and after a workout by Coach Bernard, he was astonished by how challenging CrossFit was despite his fitness level. Since then he has become a loyal member of Fitness Playground and completed a personal trainer course and a fitness nutrition course by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as well as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certificate.

Jason Tsoi
Trainer

Jason Tsoi played a variety of sports in his undergraduate years, like basketball, badminton and handball. He realised that skills and strength were both necessary to get himself a W in the game, so he started learning different training techniques on youtube and hitting the gym regularly. 

By chance, one of Jason’s floormates introduced CrossFit to him. Jason found that CrossFit was not trying to expose all his weaknesses, instead, it was giving him a structured program to tackle them, which he believed would be helpful not only for him, but also all his current clients as a physiotherapist. He then shared CrossFit to his friends and joined Fitness Playground team to start coaching. 

Kit Chan

Kit met her first yoga teacher in 2010. It was a great inspiration for her. She fell in love with yoga and started practice every day. In 2012, she won the champion of 6th China Yoga Competition (Pair group of Artistic yoga) in Guang Zhou and the 1st runner up in 2nd Dayal International Yoga Championship in Hong Kong (Pair group of Artistic yoga).

With the passion of yoga, she has also completed 200 hours Yoga Alliance for Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. She feels grateful that she can start a new yoga journey and share her experiences, energy and joy to yoga lovers.
